Somehow a deer got trapped in the vineyard the other day and was unable to jump over the 12 foot barbed wire fencing surrounding the vines. But not for lack of trying... By the time Joseph and the girls realized what was going on, Bambi was pretty beat up in her attempts to high jump over her wall to freedom.
Claire quickly ran and got her fireman hat, put it on backwards, and set out on the mission to save Bambi. They opened the gates and the wounded gazelle ran free. Claire will not stop talking about it. She's a hero. And heroic stories need to be told.

Double Trouble
Joseph left the girls unattended for two minutes while he ran upstairs to change for church. When he returned they had removed the stuffing from the cushions in our living room. Three feet of white fluff--snow if you will!- on the floor. Claire then turned to Lily when Joseph returned and placed all the blame on her shoulders, "No Lily, you made a big big mess. Baaaad Lily."
Riiiiight Claire. You innocent little thing. It's all Lily....

Cutisms
Claire and I were watching the NYC Ballet perform Romeo and Juliet on WETA the other night. Drama a plenty in that there story.
Claire has a very tender heart and enjoyed the dancing, but when Juliet started lamenting the fate of her life (which she die A LOT in this version) Claire got tears in her eyes and tried to console her by repeating, "Oh you poor thing. You poor poor thing. She's so sad, you poor thing." And then giant crocodile tears started rolling down her face in empathy with Juliet's plight.
Aaannd then we changed the channel.
She's a sensitive little bug. Just like her mama.
