First time on a slide

She loves slides. She loves wood chips. She loves to share (we could have been there all night with all the wood chips she wanted to give us) and to clap (for herself, for the bunnies, for the wind blowing through the trees). We had a great time at the park tonight. I don't think we could love our new hometown more.

Reading with Aunt Chessa

I love my Aunt Chessa. She reads with me and laughs at all my jokes. She came over last Saturday and we had a great time. Chess and mom work together and are great friends, but I know she really just comes over to hang out with me.

Our backyard

That's right, those are trees. And grass. I cannot tell you how happy we are to have a yard. A real yard. It's actually our own little forest. We see Cardinals, Blue Jays, and wild bunnies (I know, it's magical) daily. We've also seen deer and a fox--but hear they come out more in the winter. Claire loves the butterflies the most and I love the Woodpecker the least. It's siding!! You can peck all you want at 5am, but it's never going to happen!! Okay, I try to be annoyed, but really I'm so enchanted by our new home and forest I don't even mind that mindless bird hammering away outside our window each morning. Can you spot the Cardinal in these pics? It's kind of like finding Waldo.

Fun with tupperware

Do the good times ever end here at the Andersen house? I submit that they do not.

Presents

Books and packing peanuts?!!!

Cake!

Oh it's fun to play in cake. She didn't actually eat the cake, you'd have thought we were trying to feed her (Trying hard here to think of things she won't eat that are disgusting. Bugs? No . . . Dirt, pieces of who knows what on the floor? No . . . Yeah, drawing a blank). But when it's your birthday, you can pretty much do whatever you want. So if you just want to smear frosting all over yourself, go for it.

Happy Birthday Lovebug!!

Claire turned one on May 31st. Happy birthday sweetheart! She loves birthdays! Okay, I don't think she really thought it was much different than any other day. We had cake (but hey, mom's pregnant so aren't we always eating cake?). There were toys (thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa Sorenson for the great books, and Grandma Scholdei for the dollys and other fun stuff). And singing, love and adoration.

We love you so much Claire. What a joy you are in our lives.

Some of my favorite people

Ooooh Claire loves her dolly. And the mirror. Put the two together . . .

She gives dolly kisses and loves to drag her around the house. I'd say it's all love and tenderness with her newfound companion but she also likes to whack her against the floor and chuck her across the room from time to time. I myself have been clubbed several times with dolly. We're still working on "gentle."

I like boxes

Claire loves having so many boxes/playhouses around. Our home is a funland right now.

Moving

I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again--we're never ever (ever ever) moving when I'm 8 months pregnant again. My word.

Here are a few pics of Claire "helping" me pack our old apartment. Right. I must say she's been much more of a help now that we're in our new house as she loves to pull stuff out of boxes. I think we packed each box three times before they were finally closed. We'd put something in . . . Claire would take it out. Thank you sweetheart.
